NMN and NAD⁺
A defined relationship studied in humans.
Nicotinamide mononucleotide—NMN—is a naturally occurring molecule the body can use as a direct precursor in NAD⁺ biosynthesis. NAD⁺ participates in cellular energy transfer, redox reactions, metabolic signaling, DNA-repair activity, and other cellular processes.
Controlled human studies have examined oral NMN in specific populations, doses, durations, and study conditions. Those studies provide context; they do not predict what one person will report.

Under the populations, doses and durations studied, human research suggests NMN may support specific researched endpoints—for example, blood NAD+-related measures, skeletal-muscle insulin sensitivity in postmenopausal women with prediabetes, and ventilatory-threshold performance in trained runners. Other outcomes were null. This does not mean NMN supports all 12 wellbeing areas or predict an individual result.
